Rebuilding Vega: Smarter, Faster, and More Human

TL;DR

  • MCP support with Wolfram Alpha → flawless math, stats, physics, and more
  • New voice-voice canvas agent → solve problems with Vega in real time
  • Shorter, sharper responses → easier to follow, more dynamic
  • Quizzes rebuilt → more accurate and consistent, even if they take a second longer
  • Long-term memory with custom Ontology → Vega remembers you, adapts better every session

It’s been a while since we cracked Vega open and rebuilt it from the inside out. This wasn’t just a round of polish or bug fixes, it was a rethinking of how students feel when they use Vega. The goal was to make it sharper, more dynamic, and closer to what it’s like to sit next to a really good tutor who always knows what to say, when to say it, and how to say it.

MCP Support

We’ve introduced MCP support to Vega, with Wolfram Alpha as the first integration. When reasoning mode is turned on, Vega is no longer limited to conversational intuition, it has the computational precision of Wolfram under the hood. That means flawless performance in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, and more.

No more approximations. When you ask Vega to solve a problem, it now brings a quantitative powerhouse along for the ride. This opens up a future where Vega can branch into other MCPs too, giving students access to specialized reasoning across subjects.

Voice-Voice Writing Canvas Agent

This is where things start to feel futuristic. We rebuilt the writing canvas from the ground up and added a brand new voice-to-voice mode. Instead of typing everything out, you can now literally talk through problems with Vega — and it talks back.

Imagine pulling up a whiteboard with your tutor, except instead of awkward silences, you have real-time dialogue. Ask a question, get guidance, ask a follow-up, and adjust your approach — all without breaking flow. It feels less like software and more like a conversation with someone who’s there to help you figure it out.

Currently being beta tested, will be out to institutions soon!

Long-Term Memory with Custom Ontology

This is the part we’re most excited about: Vega now has long-term memory. And not just generic “remember your name” memory, we’ve built a custom ontology designed around how students actually learn.

What does that mean in practice? Vega remembers every detail about you through conversations: your goals, your strengths, the concepts you struggle with, even your preferred way of solving problems. Over time, it builds a map of you as a learner, so every new session feels more personal than the last.

Instead of restarting from scratch, Vega adapts, recalls context, and uses that memory to guide you forward. The result: a smoother, more personal tutoring experience that grows with you semester after semester.

New Behavior

We’ve also overhauled how Vega communicates. Instead of long paragraphs or overly detailed breakdowns, responses are now shorter, more digestible, and more accurate. The goal is clarity and flow.

It’s not just about brevity, though. The behavior is more dynamic. Vega now adapts better to the way a student is learning in the moment. Struggling? It slows down. Moving quickly? It keeps pace. It’s the kind of adjustment that makes the difference between reading answers and actually learning. Furthermore, it understands student intent better. Whether you're answering it's question or responding to a previous question, Vega will now understand and respond clearly.

Quizzes, Re-engineered

Finally, we went deep on quizzes. Previously, quiz generation worked, but it was sometimes inconsistent. So we tore it down and rebuilt it in isolation, making the process more stable and precise.

Yes, it takes a few seconds longer. But that trade-off means quizzes that are now flawlessly accurate, more consistent, and better aligned with practice goals. Students don’t just get a random mix of questions; they get challenges that mirror real assessments and build confidence.

Closing Thoughts

This update wasn’t about adding “more.” It was about making Vega feel more human, more reliable, and more useful. With reasoning power, real-time voice-to-voice collaboration, long-term memory, dynamic responses, and bulletproof quizzes, Vega is becoming the study partner we always wanted: fast, reliable, and built for real learning.

Vega now feels more human than ever, and we’re confident it’s the best AI learning system anywhere in the world. Every day, we’re working to make it better and better, so that learning with Vega keeps getting smarter, more personal, and more empowering.
